In a magical neighborhood in the Bronx, a girl named Irene discovers a mysterious door in the community garden. Accompanied by her cat Whiskers, she steps through the door into a fantastical world filled with candy-colored trees and magical creatures. As she explores this new world, she meets a group of creatures who play music in a meadow. They tell Irene that she has been chosen to restore the fading music in parts of their world. They give her a pendant that will help her hear the music and guide her on her journey. With Whiskers by her side, Irene embarks on an adventure to restore harmony to this magical world.
