Description

Nine-year-old Marc moves to New York City with his mom and initially struggles to find his place in the bustling city. On their first day exploring, Marc chases after a runaway kite, earning admiration and a new friend. The next day is Marc’s first day at his new school. He quickly befriends Jake, a boy he meets at the bus stop. One day, Marc sees a flyer for a kite flying competition and decides to participate. Marc demonstrates impressive kite flying skills at the competition and is invited to join a kite flying club. The story concludes with Marc feeling a renewed sense of purpose in his new city and a curiosity about a mysterious older kite flyer he sees near the park.
