Jonas, a young boy known for his curiosity and love of adventure, lives in a small town in Maine near the extraordinary Pinewood Forest. One day, Jonas attends the annual Pinewood Fair’s scavenger hunt with his friends Lily, Max, and his dog Baxter. The hunt’s prize is a golden compass that can guide the owner to hidden treasures. During the hunt, they find a mysterious path that leads them to a pond with a small box containing a different compass. They follow the compass, leading them into the heart of the forest and an ancient stone archway. Through the archway, they find a magical glade holding an orb that pulses with light. They are enveloped in the orb’s light, feeling a deep connection to each other and the world. The orb’s light recedes, and they return to their village with a newfound understanding and a promise of future adventures.
