Eight-year-old Brett and his friend Avi, living in a small Israeli town, start their summer holidays by exploring ancient ruins near their home. They discover a mysterious medallion and a book with strange symbols and a parchment hinting at a journey “where the earth meets the sky.” The boys take the book to their village historian, Mr. Larkin, who identifies the language as that of the old tribes of the area. He tells them about a sacred mountain that serves as a gateway to other realms. The boys prepare for their journey, gathering supplies, and set off towards the mountain after witnessing a comet streak across the sky, taking it as a sign of their destined adventure.
