Description

Marc, an imaginative boy living in New York City, is given an envelope by his mother to deliver to Mrs. Thompson at the local bakery. This simple task ignites Marc’s imagination and he sees it as a heroic adventure. On his way home, he finds an old, ornate key on the sidewalk. Intrigued, he takes it home and, the next day, with his sister Lily, decides to investigate an abandoned warehouse. They discover a locked door that the key opens, leading them to a room filled with forgotten artifacts and a mysterious trunk. Inside the trunk, they find a wooden box containing a silver pendant. As soon as Marc opens the box, they are transported to a vibrant, magical landscape. The story ends with Marc and Lily embarking on a new adventure in this fantastical world, their every day lives in New York City a distant memory.
